TGW group, working exclusively with TGT, has revealed that Remi Garde is targeting a January move for Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy. We understand the deal will be a loan until the end of the season.
Debuchy targets January transfer |
Debuchy has lost his place to Hector Bellerin and the Frenchman wants regular first team football ahead of Euro 2016. At Aston Villa, he will be offered a chance to start regularly and prove his worth.
It remains to be seen whether Arsène Wenger will allow this move but reports suggest that Debuchy will be putting in a transfer request. Last month, he hinted towards his January transfer:
“I am dealing with it. I am trying to stay strong. We are going to remain concentrated until December, after that I will see.”
Debuchy has started 20 games in all competition for the gunners since his £8 million move from Newcastle United. Being forced on the sidelines through injuries, the Frenchman struggled to find his way back into the first team while Bellerin cemented his position at right back.
Arsenal would not want to have any player leave in January but as we understand, Remi Garde will approach Arsène Wenger for Debuchy and it will all depend on how the manager deals with the situation.
