Elneny completes medical ahead of his move to Arsenal

Mohamed Elneny has completed his medical ahead of his move to the Emirates. The Egyptian star and FC Basel midfielder is set to sign for the gunners in £6.5 million four-year deal rising to £7.4 million.

TGW group and TGT understands that Elneny completed his medical today and the player should sign his Arsenal contract tomorrow. Elneny has been on Arsène Wenger's shortlist for a very long time and the manager is keen on finalising the deal as soon as possible.

The 23-year-old plays in central midfield and will provide Arsenal  a much needed cover while Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin continue to remain sidelined.

While being a strong figure as the holding midfielder, Elneny had a pass completion rate of 92.4% this season in the Europa League, which was the highest by any player.

Elneny has won 39 caps at senior level for Egypt and also played for Egypt in the London 2012 Olympics. Since Basel failed to qualify to this season's Champions League group stages, he will also be eligible to play for Arsenal in the Champions League.

With Arsenal's current injury list and another setback suffered by Jack Wilshere, a signing like this will provide the necessary cover and help Arsenal continue their title challenge.
