Huntelaar ready to join Arsenal for £100k a week

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is set to sign for Arsenal in January for a transfer fee expected to be around £6m. However, he is not coming for cheap. Reports say that he has demanded weekly wages of £100,000. That will make him the highest paid player at the club. Currently Lukas Podolski is the highest paid Arsenal player with weekly wages of £90,000.

Huntelaar can add to Arsenal's strike force with Olivier Giroud ahead. There have been rumours of David Villa's transfer to Arsenal but surely there hasn't been any reliable input on that. Villa, who wants to play as a centre forward at Barcelona has been sidelined as the position has been dominated by Lionel Messi. Arsenal wouldn't mind having him on board either.

This January Arsenal is expected to be quite busy in the transfer window and thus such rumours are no surprise. As it stands, nothing can be confirmed. Although Arsenal have shown interest in Huntelaar but there have also been reports from Schalke that they are not willing to sell him at all.

  1. He certainly will be better addition than David Villa, who I guess has higher wages at Barcelona. But this addition shouldn't make Walcott unstable !
