Bacary Sagna: When you see two of the best players from last season leave, you ask a lot of questions.

[By Mugais Jahangir]

Just when it looked like the dust had settled down, Arsenal came in news yet again. This time it is full back Bacary Sagna. In an interview to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Sagna revealed that he is not happy to see Robin van Persie and Alex Song leave the club.

"Everyone was expecting Robin van Persie to leave, but Alex Song, that was a surprise. I don't understand that at all. It is a big loss for the club."
"When you see two of the best players from last season leave, you ask a lot of questions. I understand why the supporters are nervous."
"In the street, supporters sometimes come to see me. I can understand that they're annoyed. I'm like them - I don't understand everything,"
"I am the only starting player left from 2007. In May, I watched City's parade on TV. I saw Samir and Gaƫl lift the trophy. I want that [feeling]."
"For the moment, I want to play with Arsenal, and find my level again."

He was asked whether anyone at Arsenal had spoken to him about extending his contract. To that he replied, "No, nobody."

Sagna's contract runs till the end of 2013-14 season and just hours after his interview went viral on Twitter, we heard rumours of Sagna willing to leave the club. It is all nonsense. There are many ways you can twist a statement. Nobody would be happy to see two good players leave the club and that is all Bacary was trying to say. We heard it from Vermaelen as well. Even Arsene Wenger wasn't happy to see Robin leave. Regarding his contract, it is too early to talk about it. It is true that Song left three years before his contract would expire but in my opinion £15m for Song sounds like a very good deal. Although he wasn't replaced, as we all expected but as it stands, we can't change that, so all we can do is hope that we don't regret letting him go.
